Six months into my pregnancy I was having cramps, I thought nothing of it but finally went to the ER. When I got there, I was 90% effaced and 2cm along....
They transferred me to a different hospital that was better equipped to handle the situation. I was put on MAG and wasn't allowed to eat. They reminded me every day that if I got to 4cm that I would have an emergency c section immediately. I wasn't able to fly home.
Five days later, it was a little past midnight, and I was taken to have the c section. My son was born at 0058. He was perfect.
The doctors informed us that the first couple of days might be touch and go. Nevertheless, he was doing so well in the NICU.
Three days later after our son was born, the doctors informed us he was bleeding somewhere in his belly. They described it as a grade three / four bleed on either side. I don't think I've ever cried so hard.
The next day we decided to say goodbye to our sweet boy because we didn't want him to suffer anymore. My husband's family all came to the hospital. We got our son baptized. Then took him off his oxygen and said goodbye.
He passed being surrounded by people who loved him.
