I found out that my significant other and I were expecting a baby. We were not trying as I was on the pill. However, as soon as I saw those two lines, I was in love....
We bought clothes and tiny shoes. I had a feeling he was a boy, so we got a bunch of baby boy things. We had a photo shoot to capture a beautiful announcement, and shared it with the world!
I went for a scan at eight weeks. We measured slightly behind, but our baby had a heartbeat, so there was still lots of hope. The results stated that our sac was irregular but may work itself out. That day I started spotting.
I cried and went to the emergency room. The technician found a heartbeat without any trouble. The doctor informed us that half of all pregnancies spot in the early days. I was still sick, tender breasts, emotional. I thought all was well.
We had another scan at 14 weeks. As soon as the technician began, I knew something was wrong. She went to get the doctor. My baby had passed a few days after my last scan. We were both devastated. The hardest day of my whole life was finding out that my baby had passed for almost six weeks and I had no idea.
We have been trying to fall pregnant again for nine months now, but with no luck. Nevertheless, we have hope for the future. One day we will have our little family and our angel will be looking down on us smiling.
